Connecting Career and Technical Education (CTE) at Massachusetts High Schools to Higher Education opportunities at Cape Cod Community College (4Cs) through Statewide and Local Independent Articulation Agreements.
Through officially approved and mapped agreements for specific high school programs and coursework, 4Cs awards college credit to eligible high school students towards an academic degree. Graduating high school students, and students within two years of high school graduation who meet all requirements and enroll at 4Cs can request to have credit applied. Students who have graduated high school within five years of applying to 4Cs can be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
Under a Statewide or Local Independent Articulation Agreement, students must meet the following requirements to receive college credit at 4Cs:
Through a statewide articulation taskforce, multiple agreements have been established across the Commonwealth of Massachusetts between all 15 Massachusetts Community Colleges and all Chapter 74 Vocational Technical High Schools, as well as Non-Chapter 74 High Schools with Chapter 74 programs that meet the Statewide Articulation Agreements requirements.
These agreements allow for eligible students to enroll at any of the community colleges and receive college credits for work completed while at the high school. Of the 14 statewide agreements, 4Cs honors those listed in the table below.
Students completing the following programs and all requirements can earn the following credit at 4Cs:

What are the advantages for eligible High School students receiving credit under Statewide and Local Independent Articulation Agreements? There are many!
Students should work closely with their Program Coordinator, Guidance Office and Counselor to find out if their program has an agreement and to make sure they are on track to meet the requirements. Use this checklist to help:
Each High School may provide that information to the Admissions Office differently. To be certain of being awarded the credit earned meeting all requirements, ask Guidance to complete and send this form directly to 4Cs:
Request for Statewide or Independent Articulated Credit Award
There are academic programs that are in the same or related area of your studies, as well as other disciplines that your earned credits could apply as electives. Talking to an Admissions Counselor at 4Cs will help you to decide what the best major is for you based on your goals, interests and career path.

Articulation Agreement Process
High school programs and courses considered for Local Independent Articulation Agreements are those that closely align or match with college programs and courses. These include Chapter 74 programs not part of the Statewide Articulation Agreements and Non-Chapter 74 Career-Connected Learning that fit within the clusters of Massachusetts CTE Instructional Frameworks, 2014 Articulation Crosswalks, Occupational Crosswalks, Innovations Pathways, Perkins Programs, and Career Clusters. High schools interested in articulating programs or courses with Cape Cod Community College can review the forms below to start the process.
